Why It Matters

Certification is your protection

Bangladesh's HVAC market is flooded with uncertified equipment that fails performance claims, uses banned refrigerants, or presents electrical safety risks. A chiller rated at 200 RT by the manufacturer may deliver only 150 RT in practice — unless a third-party body has independently verified that claim.

Every brand and every model Cooltech Corporation supplies carries independent third-party certification. For industrial and commercial buyers, certification is often a contractual and insurance requirement. For all buyers, it is the only way to guarantee that energy consumption, cooling capacity, and safety ratings are real — not marketing claims.

When you choose Cooltech, you choose equipment that has been tested, verified, and certified by the world's most respected independent bodies — giving you full confidence from procurement through commissioning.

What each certification guarantees

Cooltech Corporation's product range is certified by the following internationally recognised bodies and standards.

AHRI Certified

Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute

AHRI certification is the gold standard for HVAC equipment performance verification. It means an independent, accredited laboratory has tested the equipment under standardised conditions and confirmed that the manufacturer's rated capacity, efficiency (COP/EER/IPLV), and performance figures are accurate.

What it means for your project:

  • Cooling capacity figures are real — not optimistic marketing claims
  • Energy efficiency ratings (COP, EER, IPLV) are independently verified
  • Equipment will perform as specified under Bangladesh's tropical conditions
  • Required for specification compliance on most hospital, hotel, and government projects
  • Protects you from over-sized or under-performing equipment
Applies to: Industrial Chillers · VRF/VRV Systems · Air Handling Units · Fan Coil Units

ETL Listed

Intertek Electrical Testing Laboratories

The ETL Listed mark is awarded by Intertek, one of the world's oldest and most respected safety testing organisations. ETL certification confirms that electrical and electronic equipment meets the applicable North American safety standards — and is accepted as equivalent to UL certification in most jurisdictions worldwide.

What it means for your project:

  • All electrical components have been independently safety tested
  • Reduces risk of electrical faults, short circuits, and fire hazards
  • Accepted for compliance on commercial and industrial building projects
  • Insurance companies recognise ETL Listed equipment as lower risk
  • Required on many government and institutional procurement tenders
Applies to: Chillers · Scroll Compressor Units · Control Panels · Variable Frequency Drives

ASHRAE 90.1 Compliant

Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential

ASHRAE 90.1 is the globally recognised minimum energy efficiency standard for commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Published by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, it sets mandatory minimum efficiency levels for every category of HVAC equipment. Compliance means the system will consume no more energy than the standard allows.

What it means for your project:

  • Guaranteed minimum energy efficiency — reducing your operating costs
  • Compliance with international green building standards (LEED, BREEAM)
  • Meets the energy requirements of modern commercial building codes
  • Enables accurate energy modelling and payback calculations
  • Average 25–40% lower energy consumption vs non-compliant alternatives
Applies to: Screw Chillers · Centrifugal Chillers · VRF Systems · AHUs · Cooling Towers

ASHRAE 170 Compliant

Ventilation of Health Care Facilities

ASHRAE Standard 170 defines the ventilation and air quality requirements for healthcare facilities — including hospitals, operating theatres, ICUs, pharmacies, and clean rooms. Cooltech Corporation's hospital HVAC designs comply with ASHRAE 170, ensuring the correct air changes per hour, filtration levels, pressurisation, and temperature/humidity control for each space type.

What it means for healthcare projects:

  • Operating theatres receive correct air changes per hour (minimum 20 ACH)
  • Positive/negative pressurisation correctly applied to sterile zones
  • HEPA filtration specified where required (ICU, isolation wards)
  • Temperature and humidity maintained within clinical tolerance bands
  • Compliance with hospital accreditation requirements (JCI, NABH)
Applies to: Hospital AHUs · Operating Theatre HVAC · ICU Ventilation · Pharmacy Cold Rooms
Environmental Standards

Green Refrigerants & Environmental Compliance

All HVAC and chiller equipment supplied by Cooltech Corporation uses approved, low-GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants in compliance with the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment. We do not supply equipment using banned or phased-out refrigerants such as R-22 (Freon).

Bangladesh, as a signatory to the Montreal Protocol, is committed to eliminating ozone-depleting substances and transitioning to environmentally sound refrigerants. Cooltech's equipment is fully aligned with these requirements.

R-410A Approved

GWP: 2,088

Residential & light-commercial split ACs, small VRF systems

R-32 Preferred

GWP: 675

Next-generation residential ACs — 68% lower GWP than R-410A

R-134a Approved

GWP: 1,430

Large centrifugal chillers (HELIOS series), industrial chilled water plants

R-407C / R-407F Approved

GWP: 1,774 / 1,825

Screw chillers, commercial systems transitioning from R-22

We do not supply R-22 (Freon) equipment. R-22 is an ozone-depleting substance phased out under the Montreal Protocol. Any supplier still offering R-22 equipment is selling legacy stock that cannot be legally recharged in most countries and will leave you with a stranded asset.
