Dunham-Bush has launched the Hyperion Series WCHX-A — a new generation of water-cooled horizontal screw chillers available in 50Hz with R134a refrigerant, making it directly suitable for installation in Bangladesh. Cooltech Corporation is the authorised supplier and installer.
The WCHX-A offers 13 models from 110 to 275 RT (387 to 967 kW) with single or twin compressor configurations for redundancy and reliability. The Plate Heat Exchanger (PHE) economiser boosts efficiency beyond standard ratings, and the compact construction simplifies plant room design and installation. AHRI certification and ASHRAE 90.1 compliance confirm the unit's energy performance.
Water-cooled chillers paired with cooling towers consistently outperform air-cooled systems on energy efficiency — the WCHX-A achieves COP values of 5.2 to 5.8, compared to 2.8–3.2 for equivalent air-cooled models. This translates to significantly lower electricity costs over the chiller's 15–20 year lifespan. Ideal for buildings with an existing or planned cooling tower.
